Free tests for college credit offered in N.H.

The state’s partnership with a philanthropic effort means 1,000 free exams are being offered that can be used for college credit.

Under the partnership announced Monday, the Department of Education said a philanthropy called the Modern States Education Alliance will pay for up to 1,000 College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests given by the College Board. A passed CLEP test can result in free college credit through this program, saving students money.
